The Maryland State Police is seeking Cadets to introduce youth to the duties of a Maryland State Trooper and prepare them to become Troopers at age 21. Cadets perform duties that do not require police authority, are generally assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, and work under a Trooper at a truck inspection station or on patrol.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, and meet fitness, vision, and character requirements.

This is a statewide position. While Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division will take county residency into account, assignment will depend on need. Selected applicants must be willing to work in any county in Maryland.
