Job summary

Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit in the United States is seeking a Compliance Trainer I to deliver and document required health, safety, and regulatory training for the Copper World project and surrounding sites, reporting to the Training Superintendent.

This role focuses on ensuring strict MSHA compliance and effective onboarding for miners and contractors at our Helvetia, AZ operations. The position requires facilitating New Miner Training, annual refreshers, and hazard awareness sessions,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and five years of related mine operational experience.
• Current MSHA Approved Instructor Certification (IS) / Blue Card.
• Experience delivering training packages using adult learning theories/styles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to work & multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and facilitates New Miner Training, Annual Refresher Training, New Hire Orientation, and site-specific hazard awareness programs.
• Delivers technical training such as LOTOTO (Hazardous Energy Isolation), Working From Heights, Confined Space etc.
• Documents all competency assessment information and ensures SOP compliance.
• Maintains records of training events for MSHA auditing purposes.
• Participates in safety initiatives, toolbox meetings, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
