Lonza in Portsmouth, NH is looking for a driven Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) Scientist II to join our team. In this role, you will primarily be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CGT manufacturing processes and play a central role in resolving key process issues. This person should have experience in transferring and supporting processes from first run in plant, PPQ campaigns, and commercial campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a technical lead for technology transfer, validation, and lifecycle management initiatives.
2. Represent MSAT on project teams as a technical SME and interface with customer technical and quality representatives.
3. Develop process understanding and expertise.
4. Author, review, and own process-related documentation.
5. Author/review change controls, including managing the implementation of changes as the assigned change agent.
6. Monitor and report on process performance, manufacturing data analysis, and deliver data in the form of live presentations.
7. This is an individual contributor position and will NOT have direct reports.

Key Requirements:

1. Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree required, preferably in Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, or Chemical Engineering. Typically requires 4-7 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
2. Experience with biotech, process development, process scale-up, tech transfer, and/or manufacturing.
3. Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and cell culture. Experience with cell and gene therapies is preferred.
4. Strong communication skills, able to clearly express ideas verbally and in writing. Good interpersonal skills. Shows commitment and dedication, striving to be ahead of schedule.
5. Practices safety awareness at all times and considers the impact of actions prior to executing activities.
6. Ability to share 24/7 on-call support during manufacturing processes.
