Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim in St. Joseph, MO is seeking a talented Intern to join the Site Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) department.

You will work on projects related to manufactured biological products, gaining exposure to vaccine, protein and antibody processes in animal health. The role offers hands-on experience in bioprocess experiments, equipment setup, data generation, and compliant documentation, with training across BI standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
• Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the co-op.
• GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale preferred.
• Pursuing a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
• Willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist with projects related to existing products for Operations by conducting experiments to evaluate materials, optimize processes, and confirm results from small to large scale.
• Prepare, set up, and execute equipment, growth parameters, medium/buffer selection, and qualification of new equipment; maintain equipment in operational status.
• Investigate bioprocess methodologies and support innovative approaches for further characterizations of products.
• Operate in a compliant manner with documentation guidelines and current SOPs; complete BI, site, departmental, and bioprocess training.
