Job summary

Nashville Wire Products is seeking team players for lab and environmental support roles in Nashville, TN. The successful candidate will perform chemical tests, prepare samples, and help manage wastewater treatment processes.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, maintaining safety standards, and supporting project teams while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and quality procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret technical procedures and regulations.
  • Willingness to operate heavy equipment and perform warehouse/ lab tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts chemical laboratory tests to determine characteristics of substances.
  • Prepare samples, test concentrations, and record data.
  • Operate filter press to remove solids from wastewater.
  • Operate forklift as needed.
  • May operate Scanacon and make the changers if necessary.
  • Maintain process tanks to ensure proper concentrations and temperatures.
  • Participate on project teams as requested.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly; work safely.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Calibrate pH probes.

Job description

Conducts tests and field investigations to obtain data in determining sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil ensuring all city, state, and federal environmental regulations are met.

  • Conducts chemical laboratory tests, according to work instructions, to determine characteristics of solid or liquid substances.
  • Prepare chemical samples, test for appropriate chemical concentrations, and record data on proper forms.
  • Operate filter press to remove solids from waste water.
  • Operate forklift as needed.
  • May operate Scanacon, and make the changers if necessary.
  • May maintain process tanks to ensure proper concentrations and temperatures.
  • May perform other duties as required or requested by the lead man.
  • May participate on project teams as requested
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly. Responsible for conducting all work in a safe manner
  • Need to know how to load, and unload trucks.
  • Need to know how to calibrate PH probes.

12 Need to maintain proper PH that goes back to Metro.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, policies, and procedures. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, or employees. : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, whole numbers, fractions, & decimals. Ability to compute and interpret statistical data. : Knowledge of personal computers.
