Cognizant is seeking an MS SQL Database Administrator for a remote role. Responsibilities include managing SQL Server architecture, backups, monitoring, tuning, and HA/DR strategies. Expertise with AlwaysOn, replication, and automation is required.

This position is US-focused and requires eligibility to work without sponsorship. Ideal candidates will have strong SQL, PowerShell, and Python skills, plus experience with SQL Azure and PostgreSQL basics.

• Strong knowledge on SQL server architecture, design and administration activities.
• Expertise in handling SQL database backups, its recovery model, database restore and best practices around it.
• Strong knowledge on Monitoring SQL server health and SQL server tuning, performance optimization and best practices
• Hands on experience on SQL server Replication and SQL AlwaysON
• Hands on experience in Automating DBA related tasks using TSQL or PowerShell.
• Hands on experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) and SQL always on troubleshoot

Compensation

We are offering between $75,000 – $92,000. Applications will be accepted until Oct 16, 2026.Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in US without requiring employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
