Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in education or a related field required.
• Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Secondary Education or approved Alternative Certification.
• Certification areas include AUTISM, DEAF-BLINDNESS, ID, ED, LD with specified requirements.
• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing and work well with staff, students and families.

Responsibilities

• Teaches a combination of reading, language arts, social studies, math, science, art, health, physical education and music to pupils.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials; provides individualized and small group instruction.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences and utilizes time effectively.
• Maintains pupil behavior standards and communicates progress with parents.
• Evaluates academic and social growth; keeps records and prepares progress reports.
• Interacts with pupils, staff and parents professionally and cooperatively.
• Performs other duties as assigned and participates in school improvement efforts.
