Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center in New Mexico is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical Surgical (MS) unit. This full-time night shift features a 3x12 schedule (7p-7a) with rotating weekends and holidays. A current New Mexico/Compact RN license is required, with ADN as minimum and BSN preferred for career advancement.

The MS RN will plan and deliver care, document thoroughly, coordinate transfers/discharges, and advocate for patients’ wellbeing within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Current New Mexico or Compact State RN license.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
