Job summary

Reed City Middle School is seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated coaches for the middle school girls basketball teams. Coaches will work closely with student-athletes to develop basketball skills and promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth both on and off the court.

Responsibilities include planning practices, running games and events, teaching fundamentals, communicating with parents and staff, and ensuring safety and eligibility guidelines are followed throughout the season.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience in basketball, preferably at middle school or high school level.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff in a collaborative environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
• A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Must pass a background check in accordance with school district policies.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.

• Ensure compliance with all school and league policies, including safety protocols and eligibility requirements.
• Attend all scheduled games and practices, as well as any required meetings or training sessions.
