Job summary

YES Prep in Houston, TX, seeks a part-time Coach to organize practices and support student athletes across the academic year. The role focuses on athletic development while prioritizing academics, with 4-5 hours per week over 6-8 weeks and a $20/hour rate.

Responsibilities include monitoring academic progress, equipment management, and coordinating with coaches and the athletic director. CPR/AED certification is required, and the candidate should have up to 3 years coaching experience.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of coaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of the sport including rules and terminology.
• Must hold a valid CPR and AED certification or attend training to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Organize practices and games.
• Monitor the academic progress of student athletes.
• Issue and collect uniforms.
• Provide orientation of a sound program to all student athlete participants.
• Communicate with coaches and athletic director on the progression of the student athletes and the team.
• Prioritize academics over athletics.
• Be on time to all scheduled athletic events.
• Train each student-athlete to become in the best physical condition.
• Put the team first, and the individual second.
• Stay with the team until the last student-athlete and their parents/guardians.
