Job summary

The University of the Cumberlands is seeking a full-time faculty member for the MS in Data Science program. The role supports growth and excellence in graduate education in data science.

Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses online and/or on-campus, advising students, and engaging in curriculum development and program assessment with the School of Computer and Information Sciences. Doctoral qualifications are required and applicants should be based in the US.

Qualifications

• Doctoral/PhD required in data science, data analytics, CS, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years online teaching at the graduate level.
• 8 graduate credit hours in AI, ML, or DS.
• Experience with accreditation standards and program assessment.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate MSDS courses online and/or in residency as assigned.
• Maintain instructional excellence aligned with objectives and outcomes.
• Engage in curriculum development, assessment, and improvement.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to graduate students.
• Participate in faculty meetings, program initiatives and university service.
• Collaborate with program leadership to support student success and retention.
• Perform duties as determined by Dean and Program Director.
• Follow UC Faculty Handbook policies and procedures.
