Athletic Coaching Requirements

• All Head Coaches MUST have a minimumof 2 years of experience as a head high school coach.
• Must have a valid CPRcard from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS First Aid, Health And Safety For Coachescourse.
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Fundamentals of Coachingcourse.
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Concussion in Sportscourse.
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Heat Illness Preventioncourse.
• All head coaches must have a valid an Arizona Coaching Certificate or must complete the NFHS Level 1 Certification by taking a NFHS Sport Specific courseorTeaching Sports Skills course(along with other mandated courses)
• NFHS Sport Specific Courses offered include: Basketball, Volleyball, Football,Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, Soccer, AACCA Spirit Safety
• Spirit line coaches (upon hiring) are also required to have a current AACCA Spirit Safety Certificationand attend a NFHS Spirit Rules course each year through the A.I.A.*
