Job summary

A school district in Texas is seeking qualified athletic coaches who have a minimum of 2 years of head coaching experience. Candidates must hold a valid CPR certification and complete necessary NFHS coaching courses, including First Aid, Health and Safety, Concussion in Sports, and others. Additionally, a valid Arizona Coaching Certificate or NFHS Level 1 Certification is mandatory with all applicable certificates to be submitted upon application.

Athletic Coaching Requirements

• A completed SCUSD online application. www.scbraves.net/Employment
• Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card/Verification. Application for IVP card will be accepted, pending approval.
• All Head Coaches MUST have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a head high school coach.
• Must have a valid CPR card from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS First Aid, Health And Safety For Coaches course.
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course.
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Concussion in Sports course.
• All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Heat Illness Prevention course.
• All head coaches must have a valid Arizona Coaching Certificate or must complete the NFHS Level 1 Certification by taking a NFHS Sport Specific course or Teaching Sports Skills course (along with other mandated courses).
• NFHS Sport Specific Courses offered include: Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, Soccer, AACCA Spirit Safety
• Spirit line coaches (upon hiring) are also required to have a current AACCA Spirit Safety Certification and attend a NFHS Spirit Rules course each year through the A.I.A.

• Each course may have a separate fee and must be paid at time of taking the specific course. Once an applicant has taken and passed the course(s), they will then have to provide a copy of their certificate(s) upon submission of application.
