Job summary

Clear Creek Amana School seeks an Assistant Boys Wrestling Coach to assist with instruction and lead the team in competition at the middle school level in Tiffin, IA. The role reports to the Activities Director and Head Coach and focuses on supervision and positive relationships with students.

The position requires a Iowa coaching license, teamwork, and a professional approach. Summer term duties include organizing practices, events, and compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• Current coaching license from State of Iowa.
• Ability to work well with others and willingness to assume responsibility.
• Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
• Enjoys working with young people as well as staff and parents.
• Capable of representing the school in a professional manner, including confidentiality, good oral and written communication skills, regular attendance and appropriate dress.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all athletes are properly supervised at all times.
• Attend annual coaches meeting to participate in the review of school policies.
• Organize a meeting with parents to discuss policies, expectations before the first contest.
• Assist with making sure that all physical forms and concussion forms are completed and returned.
• Help get equipment ready to be used and assist in issuing equipment and uniforms.
• Enforce training rules and eligibility regulations and report violations.
• Help organize home events and prepare facilities for use.
• Ensure athletes have completed consent for medical treatment cards and keep available.
• Supervise and maintain locker rooms, showers and training rooms.
• Secure facilities after events and practices.
• Attend all practice sessions and games or be available for scouting.
• Report injuries to head coach and athletic trainer; assist with accident forms.
• Notify media of outcomes and help prepare stats for Varsity Bound.
• Collect and inventory equipment and uniforms at season end.
• Suggest new equipment purchases to head coach.
• May be required to work an extended contract if team goes to higher levels of competition.
• Regular attendance.
• Carry out duties assigned by activities director, building principal or superintendent.

• Help organize home events and get facilities ready for use.


• Be sure that all athletes have completed a "consent for medical treatment card" and keep available for all practices and contests.
