TrinityRail is hiring a Quality Assurance Lead at our Wood River, IL plant.

The Quality Assurance Lead position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn’t stray away from a challenge.

What You'll Do:
  1. Perform quality control testing and inspection of standard parts, units, equipment, or material to ensure conformance with standards and determine if product meets all requirements.
  2. Perform a variety of standard testing processes on in-process products or during manufacturing and record and analyze results.
  3. Require knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment.
  4. May use automated and manual techniques including ultrasound and radiography to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in equipment.
  5. Provide administrative project and/or process support for the Quality department, supporting the corporate Quality staff in all related activity.
  6. Assist with creating/updating Work Order Records.
  7. Maintain records, processes, procedures including responsibility for data entry of specific quality related information.
  8. Assist with quality control reports, and quality control systems.
  9. Review data for accuracy.
  10. Assist team with policies and procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  11. Follow all safety rules and practices.
  12. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
  13. Perform high level control inspections and quality audits of product.
  14. Perform a variety of standard testing processes on finished products or equipment and record and analyze results.
  15. Require knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment.
  16. May use automated and manual techniques including VT Level II certification to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in units.
  17. Follow all safety and quality rules and practices.
  18. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
  19. Report directly to the QA Lead Supervisor.
  20. Proficient in the use of inspection tools and measuring equipment.
  21. Proficient in procedural inspections (maintenance, qualification, customer requirements).
  22. Required to achieve Level II in VT.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
  1. High School Diploma / GED (Minimum requirement).
  2. Thorough knowledge of inspection tools and measuring equipment and of operational functions to be inspected.
  3. Must have shown proficiency and knowledge of car owner procedures and inspection processes.
  4. Railcar related Quality Inspection experience.
  5. Working knowledge of and experience with industry specific tests, testing equipment, inspection tools and measuring equipment.
  6. Working understanding/competency of the AAR (Association of American Railroads) standards/policies.
  7. Level II VT, or ability to obtain it.
  8. Must be able to pass a Technical Performance Evaluation every 3 years as required by the Industry requirements of AAR MSRP, M-1003.
  9. Must have a valid Drivers License.
