WGI MRO Services is looking for an experienced Manual Lathe Operator / Machinist to join our growing aerospace repair team. As an FAA Part 145 certified repair station, we specialize in restoring commercial and military aircraft engine components to the highest quality standards.

Unlike production machining, our work is high-mix, varying-volume. Every component presents a new challenge, requiring craftsmanship, problem-solving, and attention to detail. If you enjoy machining where your skills truly matter, we'd like to meet you.

This position plays a critical role in our machining operations. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently, adapting to a wide variety of repair work, and learning our aerospace repair processes quickly. While you'll receive training on our specific procedures, we're looking for someone with a strong manual machining foundation who can become productive in a short period of time.

Retired machinists, experienced toolmakers, and manual machinists looking to apply their skills in aerospace repair are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate manual engine lathes and Hardinge lathes
  • Operate ProtoTRAK lathes as needed to support production
  • Machine and repair precision aerospace engine components to exact specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, engineering drawings, and work instructions
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for a variety of materials
  • Perform independent machine setups and make machining adjustments as required
  • Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to solve machining challenges
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all FAA, quality, and safety requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Experience operating manual engine lathes
  • Experience operating ProtoTRAK lathes is a plus
  • Ability to machine precision components to tight tolerances
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Aerospace, medical, defense, tool & die, or other precision manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Dependability, attention to detail, and pride in producing quality work
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
