Job summary

Marmon Holdings, Inc. is seeking a skilled MRO Buyer to source and manage maintenance, repair, and operating supplies for our Hartselle, AL facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain.
• Experience purchasing MRO materials, industrial equipment, or maintenance spare parts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Ability to read vendor catalogs, technical specifications, and parts documentation.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase MRO materials, parts, equipment, and services to support facility and production operations.
• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
• Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and service agreements with suppliers.
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on overdue shipments; expedite critical materials as needed.
• Ensure purchased items meet quality, technical, and operational requirements; maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Conduct inventory reviews and cycle counts; adjust stocking levels to optimize inventory investment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors; evaluate supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings through supplier negotiations and standardization of parts; support annual budgeting for MRO expenditures.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and assist with audits; ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

This position ensures timely procurement of materials, equipment, parts, and services while maintaining cost effectiveness, quality standards, and vendor relationships. The MRO Buyer works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to support production uptime and continuous improvement initiatives.
