Job summary

Eurofins is seeking a Process Development Scientist to join the mRNA process development team in Boston. You will produce RNA constructs and carry out preparative purification chromatography while performing analytical methods to characterize samples.

The role requires 1+ years (or 6 months with MS) in chemistry/biochemistry, strong data analysis skills, and meticulous attention to detail. On-site, weekdays, with comprehensive benefits and eligibility for performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry with 1+ years lab experience, or M.S. with at least 6 months experience.
• Experience with IVT and RNA biochemistry methods.
• Experience with TFF, CGE, AKTA chromatography, HPLC, and ELISA.
• Experience with good documentation practices and electronic lab notebooks such as Benchling.
• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a process development scientist to join the messenger-RNA (mRNA) process development team. The successful candidate will be contributing to early and operational tech development. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for production and analysis of RNA constructs and carrying out preparative and purification chromatography.

Responsibilities

• Perform in vitro transcription (IVT) and purification (chromatography, tangential flow filtration) experiments.
• Perform analytical methods including but not limited to capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), Akta chromatography, HPLC, and ELISA.
• Process the data and provide data summaries to team members and key stakeholders.
• Prepare buffers, reagents, and stock solutions used for process development activities, following established recipes and SOPs.
• Maintain an updated lab notebook, order materials, maintain lab equipment, and support equipment troubleshooting as needed.
• Uphold lab safety to the highest level of standards.

Basic Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry (or related field) with 1+ years of relevant laboratory experience, or M.S. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry (or related field) with at least 6 months of relevant laboratory experience.
• Experience with molecular biology and RNA biochemistry methods including IVT
• Experience with tangential flow filtration (TFF), capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), Akta chromatography, HPLC, and ELISA.
• Experience with good documentation practices and electronic lab notebooks such as Benchling.
• Unwavering commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, data analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow SOPs, and comply with company policies.

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing processes for RNA-LNP, protein, mAB, or AAV therapeutics or vaccines (experience with RNA therapeutics is preferred).

Position Details

Position is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Boston, MA.

Compensation: $32.00-$41.00 per hour based on education and related experience
