Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Sales Manager to join our team. As a Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our sales operations, including sales, customer service, and event coordination. If you have a passion for delivering exceptional service and have a proven track record in sales and event planning, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Working with the hotel management team to identify key business needs
  • Identifying opportunities and implementing sales actions to address those needs, developing new group, catering, and transient business opportunities for the hotel, such as corporate events, weddings, and group stays
  • Developing existing client relationships to increase production from existing accounts
  • Fully managing the assigned account portfolio
  • Researching the market to identify potential companies and business opportunities for the hotel, utilizing available market intelligence (e.g., Agency360, Knowland, ZommInfo)
  • Managing assigned accounts, ensuring the potential for the hotel is identified, and taking actions to secure business from these accounts; creating Account Development Plans for the top 10 accounts
  • Conducting twenty-five sales appointments per week, a combination of sales calls and face-to-face appointments (visits, site inspections, entertainment, networking)
  • Developing relationships with all levels of the client base, from bookers up to senior management
  • Meeting with existing and potential clients and conducting site inspections in an engaging and professional manner
  • Following up on sales inquiries promptly and focusing on achieving a high level of conversion to definite business
  • Responding to client inquiries, including contract rates requests (RFPs), group rates, and general inquiries across all channels (e.g., Lanyon, Cvent, MeetingBroker, email, direct)
  • Checking availability for group inquiries, consulting with revenue for pricing, and preparing and sending out sales proposals in a timely manner
  • Issuing contracts to the client upon confirmation, following up for signed return and deposit
  • Meeting with the client to discuss the final details of the group/meeting/event
  • Issuing banquet event orders (BEO) and distributing them to relevant hotel team members, detailing the specific requirements for each event
  • Keeping bookings, contacts, and activities records up-to-date in Delphi
Qualifications
  • Be one of the first points of contact for incoming sales calls, and respond in a quick, timely, and professional manner
  • Identify new business opportunities through prospecting calls and knowledge of the local area
  • Successful track record of coordinating projects and making timely decisions
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
  • Able to direct the group towards mutual commitments, goals, and objectives
  • High levels of professionalism required
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills

  • Exceptional detail in follow‑up
  • Flexible work schedule—available to work evening and weekend events as scheduled

  • Previous hotel sales manager experience required
  • Fully knowledgeable of hotel services, amenities, capacities, operational systems, and processes to accurately respond to customer questions and requests for information
  • Assure that all incoming and outgoing correspondence is received, mailed, emailed, and/or filed as required
  • Maintain client database of organizations, individuals, social groups, and corporate businesses
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
