Job summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking an MRI Technologist for a WOW (Work on Weekends) position in Louisville. The role involves producing high-quality MRI images, patient preparation, safety and infection control, and supervising students in clinical training.

WOW shifts include premium pay and a comprehensive benefits package, with tuition and relocation assistance available. Responsibilities include education, patient communication, and ensuring imaging safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Completion of an MRI educational program or eligible to obtain MR-ARRT or ARMRIT certification within one year of hire.
• Must obtain MR-ARRT or ARMRIT certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Produce and retain high quality diagnostic MRI images meeting department, organizational and industry standards.
• Prepare patients for the procedure, educate and respond to questions or concerns.
• Ensure age-appropriate communication, safety, patient education and development considerations; understand positioning, imaging technique and safety practices.
• Oversee and train students providing patient care as part of their training.

Education

Responsibilities

This is a WOW (Work on Weekends) position. Schedules for WOW employees include every weekend (Nights - Friday & Saturday, Days - Saturday & Sunday). Employees in designated WOW positions earn premium pay in addition to their competitive hourly rates and shift differential

The MRI Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age-appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, Magnetic Resonance Imaging Safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
