MRI Technologist – Full-Time Weekend Shift

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Round Rock is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist (MRI Tech) to join our medical imaging team. This full-time weekend position is specifically intended for a qualified imaging professional with the required MRI education, certification and clinical experience.
The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist. This position requires experience operating MRI equipment, following established imaging protocols, screening patients for MRI safety and producing high-quality diagnostic images.

Essential Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to physician orders, established protocols and department standards.
- Review imaging requests and patient histories to confirm the correct MRI examination is performed on the correct patient.
- Conduct comprehensive MRI safety screenings for patients, visitors and team members before they enter the MRI environment.
- Explain MRI procedures, answer questions and help patients feel comfortable throughout the examination.
- Assess each patient’s ability to tolerate the procedure and respond appropriately to individual clinical needs.
- Position patients accurately and select the appropriate MRI coils, sequences, parameters and equipment settings.
- Monitor image quality and make necessary adjustments to obtain diagnostic-quality studies.
- Follow MRI safety, infection-prevention, medication-administration and sterile-procedure requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including patient history, pregnancy status, consent forms and safety-screening information.
- Enter and maintain imaging records in the appropriate medical imaging systems for timely interpretation.
- Maintain MRI equipment, supplies and work areas according to departmental quality and cleanliness standards.
- Report equipment concerns and collaborate with engineers, physicists and department leadership when needed.
- Respond calmly and effectively during emergencies, including administering first aid and using emergency equipment.
- Assist with training and precepting new MRI team members when requested.
- Participate in call coverage if required by the department.

Qualifications
- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
American Reg MRI Tech (ARMRIT), ARRT-MR Magnetic Res Imaging (ARRT-MR), ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R): Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT(MR) or Radiography ARRT(R) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT).
