Job summary

Job Description:

Responsible for performing MRI imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients . Positions, moves, and assists patients to ensure accurate imaging results. This role performs clerical duties and provides basic patient care within the scope of practice and departmental standards . In addition, this position adheres to MRI safety guidelines, compliance plans, and regulations of local, state, and federal agencies.

Shift:

24hours a week

Saturday and Sunday, 12-hour shifts, 6a-6p preferred

  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
  • Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.

  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Required]
  • Maintain responsibility for all Hospital continuing and annual education [Required]
  • Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures [Required]
  • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]
  • Ability to perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail [Required]
  • Excellent customer service skills [Required]
  • Ability to deal efficiently, ethically, and courteously with all patients and hospital personnel [Required]
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical personnel that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served within the organization [Required]
Education:
  • Associate [Preferred]
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Work Experience:
  • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]
