Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment and related software to obtain diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The role includes leading when leadership is unavailable, mentoring new staff, and collaborating with clinicians to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program with required clinical hours.
• One year of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor’s degree program.
• State licensure may be required depending on the state of practice.
• ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT; BLS Basic Life Support

Position Details:

Mercy Hospital Springfield

Full-Time: Thursday - Saturday (3 - 12-hour shifts)

Nights: 6:30PM to 7:00AM

Overview:

The MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Technologist operates imaging equipment and software, mostly MRI equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. Responsibilities also include serving as lead when leadership is unavailable and assisting new caregiver orientation and training. The MRI Technologist position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program and completion required clinical hours.
• Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor degree program
• Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
• Certification: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT; BLS Basic Life Support

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred certifications: MRSO (Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer) or MRSE (Magnetic Resonance Safety Expert) certification

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
