Job summary

Scotland Memorial Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform all MRI scans with proper positioning, safety, and contrast administration when required. You will review orders with radiologists and communicate procedures to patients and families, ensuring accurate documentation and billing as needed.

The role requires ARRT certification, 80 hours of MRI training, and strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Weekend Friday–Sunday shifts and on-site work are involved.

Qualifications

• One to three years of experience preferred.
• Eligible for, or possession of, a valid ARRT certification.
• 80 hours of MRI training completed or-equivalent training.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Windows-based systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong teamwork and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices according to department policy and procedures.2.Receives consultation request, checking for special instructions from the requesting physician. Consults with the Radiologist as necessary. Pleasantly greets patients, confirming their identification and introduces self. Completely explains examination procedure to the patient and his/her family if present. Reviews all MRI safety procedures with patients, family, and non-MRI associates.3.Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, documents examination time, and technique factors, contrast media injections. Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required. Performs other paperwork as required.4.Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room or work station, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items.5.Age Specific Competency: Staff members will have knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and have the ability to meet the needs of and provide the care of these patients.
