Job description

UC Health is hiring a full-time MRI Technologist for the Radiology department for second shift at West Chester Hospital.

The MRI Technologist's role is to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic MR scans of various organs and structures of the human body. Operates with minimal supervision, uses independent judgment to determine the quality of images, and ensures compliance with established protocols.

Qualifications

  • Completion of or enrollment in a JRCERT-approved program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Sonography, or an Associate of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Must be registered by the ARRT, NMTCB, or ARDMS.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with patients and staff, responding to varying needs.
  • Perform MRI procedures according to protocols, explaining procedures, reviewing safety, and ensuring safety standards.
  • Operate complex imaging equipment safely and review films for diagnostic quality.
  • Review and administer medications as directed by physicians, providing continuous patient care post-procedure.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media or medications orally and intravenously.
  • Assist with emergency procedures such as CPR as needed.
  • Maintain records, participate in quality control, and evaluate department performance for improvements.
