Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport seeks an MRI Technologist in a PER DIEM CAPACITY to train and perform MRI exams. The role involves patient preparation, positioning, contrast administration, and producing diagnostic images under protocol.

Qualifications

• ARMRIT or ARRT certification with a focus in MRI.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams according to established protocols.
• Prepare and position patients and administer contrast as needed.
• Acquire cross-sectional MRI images for diagnosis.

Summary:

The MRI Technologist performs MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) exam in the hospital by selecting specific software parameters according to established protocols in order to assist the referring physician in diagnosis. The MRI Tech prepares and positions patients, injects patients with contrast media, and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiography program (ARRT) or graduate from American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) with an Associate Degree with focus in medical image preferably MRI.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
