Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s MRI Department is seeking a motivated MRI Technologist to perform MRI exams in a Level One Trauma Center, positioning patients, injecting contrast media, and selecting imaging parameters to support diagnosis.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiography program (ARRT) or ARMRIT with an Associate Degree focused in MRI.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• MRI technologist with ARRT/ARMRIT credentials or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams by selecting software parameters per established protocols.
• Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
• Inject contrast media as required and ensure safe patient care.
• Accurately select anatomical and technical parameters to produce diagnostic images.

MRI is looking for highly motivated individuals who would like to work in a busy Level One Trauma Center where MRI operates 24/7 on 3 GE High Field Scanners.

Summary

The MRI Technologist performs MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) exam in the hospital by selecting specific software parameters according to established protocols in order to assist the referring physician in diagnosis. The MRI Tech prepares and positions patients, injects patients with contrast media, and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiography program (ARRT) or graduate from American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) with an Associate Degree with focus in medical image preferably MRI.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
