Job summary

IU Health Bloomington is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to cover PTO and call-ins during the week and occasionally on weekends. The role requires MRI safety expertise, patient education, IV access, and contrast administration, with advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.

You will ensure a safe MRI environment, follow scanning protocols, perform QC, document in EMR, and collaborate with radiologists. Some weekend coverage may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• MRI safety knowledge and safety zones.
• Reviews patient history and screens for safety concerns.
• Obtains IV access, administers contrast.
• Advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
• Ensures MRI environment is safe and colleagues are screened.
• Familiar with scanning protocols and adjusting for diagnostic images.
• Performs routine QC and ensures equipment functioning.
• Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians.
• Documents in EMR and assists with procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cover PTO and call-ins, primarily during the week and occasionally on weekends.
• Maintain MRI safety and operate within safety protocols.
• Educate patients on MRI expectations and safety.
• Assist with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
