Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY seeks an MRI Technologist to produce high-quality diagnostic MRI images and assist in patient preparation, safety, and education. You will apply anatomy knowledge, optimize imaging protocols, ensure infection control, and contribute to training students as part of the imaging team.

The role emphasizes patient-centered communication, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with technologists and physicians to deliver accurate imaging results.

Qualifications

• Completion of an MRI educational program or eligible to obtain MR-ARRT or ARMRIT certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Produce and retain high quality diagnostic MRI images meeting department and industry standards.
• Prepare patients for MRI procedures and educate/address questions or concerns.
• Ensure safe patient interactions, infection control, and image quality; oversee student training as part of the team.

Job description

Responsibilities

The MRI Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age-appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, Magnetic Resonance Imaging Safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
