Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina Radiology is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to join our fast-growing team. You will perform MRI procedures under the direction of Radiologists, ensure patient safety and comfort, and operate advanced MRI equipment in compliance with ACR and ARRT standards.

The role requires ARRT MRI certification, CPR/BLS, and an approved MRI program. You will provide patient-centered care across diverse demographics and contribute to departmental policies.

Qualifications

• MUSC Radiology requires ARRT MRI certification and CPR/BLS.
• Graduate of an approved ARRT MRI program.
• CPR certification is required.

Job Description

The MRI Technologist, under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Director, performs all MRI procedures in accordance with ACR, ARRT, state regulations, and departmental policies. The MRI tech is responsible for ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures. Possesses highly technical skills to operate sophisticated equipment for the above-mentioned examinations. The Technologist must exhibit expertise in patient care based on needs appropriate for all patient demographics. Other duties as deemed necessary.

PRN Status Clause:

This is a PRN as-needed position; you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education: Graduate of an approved and accredited A.R.R.T. program. Graduate of an approved and accredited MRI program.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), MRI certification required (ARRT-MR), CPR certification required. SCRQSA preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) required.
