Job description

Responsibilities

The MRI Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as image quality. Prepares patients for procedures, educates them, and responds to questions or concerns, ensuring age-appropriate communication, safety, and patient education. Understands patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, equipment operation, infection control, and quality control. Oversees and trains students, providing patient care and services as part of their training.

Qualifications

Required:

  • RO (State Radiography License) and ARRT-R, ARRT-N, or CNMT and must obtain ARRT-MR or AMRIT within 1 year of hire.
  • OR
  • ROT (Temp State Radiography License) and must obtain ARRT-R, ARRT-N, or CNMT before ROT license expiration, and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT within 1 year of hire.
  • OR
  • One of: RDMS or ARRT-S, with ARRT-MR or ARMRIT within 1 year of hire.
  • OR
  • ARTR-MR or ARMRIT.
