Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners and provide high-quality images for diagnostic testing. You will ensure patient safety, explain procedures, and monitor equipment during scanning to assist physicians in accurate diagnoses.

Requirements include ARRT registration, current BLS certification, and graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program. This is a (PRN) hourly-role supporting MRI imaging operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, from AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professionals.
  • Copy of academic degree or transcript required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI scanners to take images of patients’ bodies for diagnostic testing.
  • Present clear images to physicians to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Follow safety standards and explain the MRI process to patients.
  • Monitor patients during scanning and ensure image quality for diagnosis.

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Current Basic Life Support (BLS)required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Copy of academic degree or transcriptrequired.

Description:

MRI technologistsoperateMRI scanners that take images of patients’ bodies toassistwith diagnostic testing. Theyare responsible forpresenting clear images to physicians to providean accuratediagnosis to a patient. MRI technologists ensure theyare followingsafety standards and explain the MRI process to patients.MRI technologistsmonitorpatients during scanning. They alsomonitorequipment functions and ensure they capture clear images so physicians can providean accuratediagnosis. They also recognize abnormalities and irregularities in images and understand the difference between a quality image and one that needs to be retaken.
