Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking an MRI Technologist for a PRN position serving offices in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, FL. The role requires Florida radiologic licensure, CPR/BLS, and strong MRI protocol knowledge. You will manage high-volume studies, document QA, and communicate results to radiologists.

The successful candidate will schedule procedures, ensure patient safety, and train junior staff. This position offers flexible shifts with no weekends or major holidays and involves

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or accredited radiologic school.
• Six months to one year related experience and/or training (preferred).
• Active State of Florida Radiologic Technology license, BLS, National Registration RT(R), RT(MR) or exam pass within 1 year of start.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI procedures across routine and moderately complex exam types, selecting sequences, coils and parameters.
• Conducts MRI safety screening for all patients and staff; identify and resolve implant concerns prior to scanning.
• Evaluates image quality during acquisition and makes real-time adjustments to ensure diagnostic adequacy.
• Administers MRI contrast agents per department protocols and monitors for adverse reactions.
• Performs quality assurance checks on MRI equipment and documents results per standards.
• Documents procedures in the electronic health record and communicates findings promptly to the care team.
• Provides guidance to entry-level technologists on MRI protocols and safety practices.

Job Description Summary

Hours & Location:

This position is PRN or per diem, working hours or shifts as needed!! No weekends or major holidays! Covering offices in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, FL

The MRI Technologist must hold all certifications and licenses related to their scope of practice. S/he must be able to handle a high volume, fast paced environment with a pleasant disposition. S/he must be responsible for maintaining all quality control records, ACR accreditation forms and daily logs for modality specific areas. S/he must be proficient in the use of computer software, ie: PACS, eRad, and Athena Clinicals and Communicator. S/he must obtain a detailed history on every exam performed in their specific modality for presentation to the Radiologist. S/he must be able to schedule all special procedures and biopsies daily as needed. S/he must follow all safety protocol to ensure safety of patients and equipment. All other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs MRI procedures across routine and moderately complex exam types, selecting appropriate sequences, coils, and parameters to meet diagnostic requirements.
• Conducts thorough MRI safety screening for all patients and support personnel, identifying and resolving implant and device concerns prior to scanning.
• Evaluates image quality during acquisition, making real-time adjustments to reduce artifact and ensure diagnostic adequacy before patient departure.
• Administers MRI contrast agents in accordance with department protocols, monitoring patients for adverse reactions during and following injection.
• Performs quality assurance checks on MRI equipment and documents results in compliance with ACR and organizational standards.
• Documents procedures in the electronic health record and communicates clinically relevant findings to the care team promptly.
• Provides guidance to entry-level technologists on standard MRI protocols and magnetic environment safety practices.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or accredited radiologic school; six months to one year related experience and/or training (preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Active State of Florida Radiologic Technology, BLS, National Registration RT(R), RT(MR) or exam pass within 1 year of start of employment.
