Job summary

Akumin Operating Corp. is seeking a radiologic professional to ensure patient safety and perform high-quality MR studies. You will coordinate with radiologists and other staff to deliver accurate imaging while maintaining a safe environment for patients.

The role involves training new technologists and patient coordinators, performing pre-screening, and communicating effectively with customers to support smooth clinical operations.

Qualifications

• Must hold ARRT/NMTCB/ARDMS registration.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist or Magnetic Resonance Technologist, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Active state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications and aseptic technique.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Orders supplies, cleans unit and assists in preparing for transport daily.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or Patient Coordinators.

Job description

Regional resource responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality MR studies. Insures effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, etc.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Orders supplies, cleans unit, assists in preparing for transport on a daily basis.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or Patient Coordinators.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
• Registered Technologists by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS
• State License. Licensed Radiologic Technologist or Magnetic Resonance Technologist, if applicable.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves
• State license, as required.
• CPR certification.
• Active state driver’s license.

Preferred Requirements:

• Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.

Physical Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, and a strong magnetic field, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

• More than 50% of the time:
  • Sit, stand, walk.
  • Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.
  • See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.
• Less than 50% of the time:
  • Stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Climb and balance.
  • Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
