Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Regional Resource responsible for ensuring patient safety and performing high-quality MRI studies in Tennessee. You will communicate effectively with customers and radiologists, and may be involved in training new technologists and Patient Coordinators.

The ideal candidate will hold a High School Diploma or equivalent, be a registered technologist, and have specific state licensing. This role emphasizes patient care and effective communication, essential for high-quality diagnostic imaging.

Qualifications

• Registered Technologist by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS.
• State license required for Radiologic Technologist or Magnetic Resonance Technologist.
• CPR certification and active state driver’s license are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications.
• Produce high quality diagnostic images.
• Order supplies and maintain cleanliness of unit.
• Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists.
• Train new technologists and Patient Coordinators.

Job description

Regional resource responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality MR studies. Insures effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, etc.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Orders supplies, cleans unit, assists in preparing for transport on a daily basis.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or Patient Coordinators.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Registered Technologist by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS.
• State license: Licensed Radiologic Technologist or Magnetic Resonance Technologist, if applicable.
• Technologists performing mid‑day moves must have a State license as required.
• CPR certification.
• Active state driver’s license.

Preferred Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.

Physical Requirements

• The employee may be exposed to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, a strong magnetic field, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious diseases.
• More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs; see, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.
• Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift (ability to move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
