Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to operate MRI and MRA systems under radiologist supervision. You will explain procedures to patients, position and monitor them during scans, and ensure high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining safety protocols.

The role requires NY DOH licensure, a two-year radiologic technology program, and at least two years of MRI experience in a hospital setting. PACS and RIS experience is preferred. The position is on-site in New York.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Completion of two-year AMA approved Radiologic Technology program required.
• Licensed by New York State Department of Health required.
• ARRT registration preferred.
• Minimum two years MRI experience in hospital setting required.
• Experience with PACS and RIS and MR equipment required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a radiologist, performs MRI and MRA procedures.
• Produces high quality images with minimal patient stress and exposure.
• Explains procedures to patients and positions them for exams.
• Verifies patient identity and screening forms for MRI procedures.
• Operates MRI unit according to protocols and safety regulations.
• Assists in orientation and training of new technologists.
• Follows departmental protocols to ensure appropriate studies.
• Performs additional related duties as required.
