Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Strong background in cross sectional anatomy, physical sciences and M.R. physics.
• 2 years experience in MRI preferred.
• NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology.
• A.R.R.T. MRI registry.
• BCLS Certified.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI imaging procedures.
• Applies the necessary technical judgment for diagnostic quality.
• Operates specialized equipment for magnetic imaging procedures.
• Positions patients and coils for optimum study.
• Educates patients on imaging procedures.
• Reviews patient safety questionnaires before scans.
• Ensures labeled MRI images per SOP.
• Evaluates images for acceptability and timely transmissions.
• Maintains cleanliness in Radiology room and equipment.
• Records patient tracking information in IDX.
• Schedules exams in IDX as required.
• Informs supervisor of needed repairs.
• Assists physician as required.
• Performs clerical duties in support personnel's absence.
• Maintains safety standards in scan room.
• Adheres to infection control protocols.
• Participates in professional development.
