Job Summary

The Diagnostic MRI Technologist is responsible for providing quality and safe MRI procedures for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. The technologist will screen all patients for ferrous implanted devices or external ferrous objects and obtain MRI images while meeting SAR standards. The technologist will assure patient well-being and care while in the Department of Medical Imaging. The technologist will follow ACR guidelines regarding Zones of Safety in an MRI Suite. The technologist will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

On-the-job training. Excellent customer service skills required.

Minimum License Requirement:

Current ARRT Certification in MRI or bachelor`s degree (in allied health field preferred) with ARMRIT Certification. Under extenuating circumstances, a grace period of no more than one month will be allowed for the renewal of ARRT or ARMRIT. Health Care Provider CPR required. Venipuncture documentation of training required within one year of hire. If the Tech is required to perform sticks then competency must be demonstrated (per CDHP Health and Safety Code 106985).
