Qualifications

Job description

Role Overview: MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequencies within a magnetic field to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research magnetic resonance imaging procedures. They independently conduct or assist with MRI exams, ensuring accurate data acquisition for interpretation by licensed practitioners. They also prepare, administer, and document medications in compliance with legal and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, and prepare patients for imaging while maintaining confidentiality.
• Optimize imaging protocols and technical factors to ensure patient safety and image quality, applying ALARA principles.
• Assist in or perform MRI procedures, evaluate images for accuracy, and manage data archiving and transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying MRI safety principles to minimize risks.
• Support licensed practitioners with MRI interventions and select appropriate pulse sequences based on protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in all job duties.

Qualifications & Skills

Certifications from ARRT-MR, ARMRIT, or NMTCB are required upon hire. A graduate of a Radiologic Technology training program is necessary, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. The role requires adherence to safety standards, technical proficiency, and a commitment to organizational priorities.
