Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Evanston, IL is seeking an MRI Technologist to support high-quality diagnostic imaging and patient care. You will perform MRI procedures, ensure safety, and maintain documentation in EPIC and Visage.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians and adherence to ethical standards. The position requires ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification (or equivalent experience), BLS, and graduation from an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT MRI Certification or ARMRIT certification within 12 months of hire or 10+ years directly relevant experience in lieu of certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient safety throughout imaging, including screening, prep, monitoring and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic MRI images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within protocols to optimize image quality and address challenges.
• Reviews images prior to completion and initiates corrective action if diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast per policy, including screening and monitoring.
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Maintains accurate documentation in medical record and image archive systems.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethics, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Ensures radiation safety and infection prevention measures where applicable.
