Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an MRI Technologist to uphold patient safety throughout the imaging process and produce diagnostic-quality MRI images using approved protocols.

The role requires ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification, a Radiology Technologist program graduate, and BLS. You will operate MRI equipment, manage exam flow, and document results in EPIC/Visage with attention to safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program
• ARRT MRI OR ARMRIT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
