Qualifications

Schedule Details/Additional Information:

2nd shift coverage to include a weekend rotation

Major Responsibilities:
  • Displays competent understanding of patient positioning and image critique
  • Ability to competently position patients for all exams
  • Perform problem solving related to physical limitations of patients during positioning
  • Perform image reviews to determine if more views are necessary
  • Select and adjust technical factors governing the imaging process
  • Identify artifacts on film and assist in problem solving
  • Minimize repeat work
  • Complete annual competencies
  • Communicate normal and abnormal anatomy effectively to the Radiologist
  • Properly utilize immobilization techniques
Operations, Equipment, and Safety:
  • Operate all equipment competently and modify technical factors as needed
  • Set up and use appropriate coils
  • Perform start-up and shut-down procedures, ensure images are labeled correctly
  • Inspect equipment daily, report malfunctions
  • Handle equipment with care and follow safety standards
  • Educate staff on MRI safety
  • Follow MRI screening procedures
Patient Care:
  • Recognize contraindications and respond to adverse reactions
  • Document allergic reactions
  • Evaluate MRI orders using ACR criteria
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort with immobilization devices
  • Access veins for IV contrast as needed
PACS/EMR/Other Software:
  • Manage studies in EMR and PACS
  • Utilize modality work list, acquire and send images
  • Perform QC in PACS
  • Troubleshoot issues
Professional Development:
  • Participate in department meetings and CME
  • Maintain ARRT certification and CPR
  • Contribute to quality improvement and staff training
Other duties:
  • Stock rooms, assist others, participate in patient education
  • Perform QC/QA, rotate workstations and shifts as needed
Education/Experience Required:

Graduate of AMA approved Radiologic Technology program; 1-2 years MRI experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Technical knowledge, diagnostic judgment, communication, organization, computer skills, cross-sectional anatomy, IV skills, ARRT or ARMRIT registration, CPR certification

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Flexible hours, long standing, monitor viewing, overtime, stress, exposure risks, patient handling up to 35 pounds

Pay Range:
$32.45 - $48.70
