Position Summary:

We are seeking a Per Diem MRI Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Huntington Medical Group. The successful candidate will perform MRI procedures under the supervision of radiologists and department staff.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform MRI procedures according to departmental protocols, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  2. Explain procedures to patients, obtain consent, and maintain rapport to ease anxiety.
  3. Position patients and equipment to optimize imaging, ensuring high-quality results.
  4. Use imaging markers and follow specific instructions to tailor procedures.
  5. Maintain equipment, perform quality control, and report malfunctions.
  6. Utilize hospital information systems for scheduling, documentation, and data verification.
  7. Assess patient information and plan appropriate procedures, including patient identification and protocol selection.
  8. Administer IV contrast media safely, monitor for reactions, and coordinate with medical staff as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Technical diploma from an AMA-approved Radiology or Imaging Services program.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • New York State License in Radiologic Technology.
  • Intravenous Contrast Administration Certification in NYS.
  • ARRT Primary Certification and advanced MRI Certification.
  • BLS Certification.
Required Licenses:

Radiologic Tech License - NYS, ARRT Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree.

Qualified candidates must communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
