Job summary

The Elliot Health System is seeking a motivated MRI technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. The role involves performing MRI examinations in accordance with ACR and ARRT standards and the department protocols, while ensuring safety and quality control across equipment, EPIC, and PACS.

Ideal candidates have an approved MRI education program, ARRT certification, and the ability to obtain BLS. A supportive team and comprehensive benefits are offered as part of our full‑time staff.

Qualifications

• Clinical experience in Diagnostic Imaging Modality, Required
• Completion of an approved MRI education program with registry eligible, Required
• Certification by the ARRT in Radiology, Radiation Therapy or Nuclear Medicine and/or state licensure, Required
• Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy licensure, Required
• MRI Registry with ARRT required within 36 months of employment
• Ability to obtain BLS during employment

Responsibilities

• Performs magnetic resonance procedures based on ACR and ARRT standards.
• Adheres to department protocols for preparation, positioning, coil selection and exam sequences.
• Participates in quality control and quality assurance using the APIE model.
• Maintains knowledge of MRI equipment, EPIC and PACS.
• Prepares and administers contract media per Radiology Contrast Policy.
• Recognizes emergencies and initiates code procedures with MRI safety guidelines.
• Records patient symptom history on requisition

About The Job

The practice of magnetic resonance is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the use of radiofrequencies (RFs) within a magnetic field on humans for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. A magnetic resonance technologist performs magnetic resonance procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or by the request of, a licensed independent practitioner. It is the magnetic resonance technologist who performs the magnetic resonance examination that creates the images needed for diagnosis

What You’ll Do

• Performs magnetic resonance procedures based on the American College of Radiology (ACR) "Practice Parameters and Technical Standards" and the ARRT “Standards of Ethics”
• Understands and adheres to the preparation, positioning, coil selection and exam sequences according to the Department Protocol book
• Actively participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the “APIE” model
• Maintains knowledge of all MRI equipment, computers, EPIC and PACS.
• Prepares and/or administers contract media in accordance with the Radiology Contrast Policy
• Recognizes emergency situations, initiates code procedures, administers first aid/CPR, as needed and in accordance with specific MRI Safety guidelines
• Records patient symptom history on requisition

Who You Are

• Clinical experience in Diagnostic Imaging Modality, Required
• OR Completion of an approved MRI education program with registry eligible, Required
• Certification by the ARRT in Radiology, Radiation Therapy or Nuclear Medicine and/or have appropriate state licensure, Required
• Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy licensure, Required
• MRI Registry with ARRT required within thirty-six (36) months of employment required.
• Ability to obtain BLS during employment
