Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio seeks an MRI Technologist responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures. This position offers a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus and requires flexible hours, with weekend and holiday call responsibilities. Ideal candidates will have experience in pediatric settings and proficiency in MRI procedures.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited educational program for Radiologic Technology.
  • Active status with the ARRT.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • ARRT certification (MRI) within 18 months of employment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Two years of clinical experience in Radiologic Sciences required.
  • One year of experience in MRI procedures preferred.
  • Experience in a pediatric setting preferred.

Job description

Overview

This position is eligible to receive a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus. Monday to Friday – 2:45pm to 11:15pm availability required. Holiday, and weekday/weekend call responsibility required.

Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images of patients' internal structures.
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures by positioning them correctly and administering contrast media as required.
  • Monitor patients during MRI scans to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure that all images are properly labeled and stored.
  • Maintain MRI equipment to ensure optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret MRI images and provide accurate diagnoses.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited educational program for Radiologic Technology, required.
  • Active status with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
  • Current CPR Certification, required.
  • ARRT certification (MRI) within 18 months of employment, required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Two years of clinical experience in the Radiologic Sciences, required.
  • One year of experience in MRI procedures, preferred.
  • Experience in a pediatric setting, preferred.
Physical Requirements

Occasionally: Electricity, flexing/extending of neck, lifting/carrying 61‑100lbs, pushing/pulling 100lbs or greater with assistance, pushing/pulling 61‑100lbs.

Frequently: biohazard waste, blood and/or bodily fluids, chemicals/medications, communicable diseases and/or pathogens, lifting/carrying 21‑40lbs, lifting/carrying 41‑60lbs, loud noises, patient equipment, pushing/pulling 41‑60lbs, reaching above shoulder.

Continuously: audible speech, bend/twist, color vision, computer skills, decision making, depth perception, hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, hearing acuity, interpreting data, lifting/carrying 0‑10lbs, lifting/carrying 11‑20lbs, peripheral vision, problem solving, pushing/pulling 0‑25lbs, pushing/pulling 26‑40lbs, repetitive hand/arm use, seeing—far/near, sitting, squat/kneel, standing, walking.

Additional physical requirements performed but not listed above: This position requires constant talking, hearing, standing, stooping, lifting, hand dexterity, bending, walking, and seeing to effectively perform varied MRI procedures. (100%)

Essential Job Functions

Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty. Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment.
