Location: PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, Springfield, OR
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift (1.00 FTE)
Salary Range: $49.96 – $74.61/hour. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Your Role at a Glance
As the Lead MRI Technologist, you’ll coordinate daily operations, mentor staff, and ensure the highest standards of imaging quality and patient care. You’ll be a subject matter expert, a problem-solver, and a compassionate leader who helps shape the future of diagnostic imaging at PeaceHealth.
What You’ll Do
- Assigns work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, monitors team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team.
- Prepare, supply, and equip exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
- Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required.
- Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history and medical records to optimize exam.
- Perform most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.
- Provides patient education and instruction prior to and after examination. Provide training/education to staff and students as indicated.
- Demonstrates ability to adapt exam to address problems of patient care as they arise making decisions to appropriately resolve problems. Recognizes and ensures additional study and examination techniques are applied when abnormalities are present.
- Operates MRI scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction, and documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
- Applies the ACR Guidance Document for Safe MR Practices to ensure patient, visitor, and caregiver safety.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents, workflow issues, patient complaints and physician relations.
- Provides assistance in implementing new procedures or processes, explains new and/or revised procedures, forms, or other tools to staff. Demonstrates new systems, applications, equipment or supplies.
- Maintains and enforces departmental programs, policies, procedures, and protocols. Monitors compliance with standards, identifies variances or inabilities to meet established targets and suggest corrective actions.
- Assist with new hire orientation, training, and completion of competencies.
- Interacts and communications with physicians, support staff and other health care professionals to facilitate departmental operations.
- Provides patient services, performs patient examinations, and assists in the procedures consistent within scope of practice and license/registration/certification.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Accredited School Required: Radiologic Technology, or equivalent education and/or experience as required for obtaining certification/license/registration as required by State for clinical practice
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in trained modality required
- Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s need
- Demonstrated venipuncture competency required
- Demonstrated knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices, procedures, physiology, and human cross-sectional anatomy required
- Demonstrated competency in computer-based programs as they relate to MR applications required
- PACS/RIS knowledge required
- Required Upon Hire: ARRT - Magnetic Resonance Imaging or American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) Certification
- Registered with the Oregon Board of Medical Imagining (OBMI). Must maintain active registry with the state of Oregon OBMI.
- Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support
