Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking an MRI Technologist to support a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining patient safety and comfort during MRI exams. The role involves accurate positioning, contrast administration, and data handling—supporting Radiologists with timely film/CD delivery.

Candidates must have MRI-related certifications and prior MRI experience, with availability for a call rotation and physical capability to assist patients.

Qualifications

  • Prior MRI scanning experience.
  • MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications (ARMRIT accepted at some locations).
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility and comfort during exams.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
  • Ensure the patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
  • Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
  • Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
  • Perform scan in accordance with center’s protocol.
  • Administer intravenous contrast.
  • Complete all forms pertaining to the patient’s exam.
  • Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
  • Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
  • Forward data and/or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
  • Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
  • Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
  • Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.
