Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus is seeking an MRI Technologist to support imaging services on Dawson Supplemental Staff. The role involves operating MRI equipment, preparing patients, and supporting radiologists during procedures.

You will perform safety and quality checks, adjust pulse sequences, post-process images, and ensure accurate transfer to PACS, while administering MRI contrast as required and maintaining high reliability in patient care.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• NMTCB certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI equipment, including monitors and gating equipment.
• Prepares patients with proper screening and positioning.
• Performs daily safety and quality control checks.
• Sends images to PACS for radiologist interpretation.
• Transfers images to independent workstations for processing.
• Reformats and post-processes images for interpretation.
• Administers MRI contrast agents when required.

Job Description Summary

The position prepares patient for testing (including thorough screening questioning), assists the radiologist during testing, operates the MRI equipment for a variety of procedures, maintains supply inventory in assigned rooms, and covers call duty, as assigned.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Operates MRI equipment, including the magnet, injectors, independent consoles, physiological patient monitors, and cardiac gating/monitoring equipment.
• Uses equipment to properly adjust pulse sequences according to body part and diagnosis.
• Demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
• Performs daily safety and quality control checks for the system.
• Sends images to PACS for interpretation.
• Transfers images to independent console for further manipulation.
• Reformats and performs post processing of images for radiologist interpretation.
• Administers MRI contrast agents
• As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.

Specialized Knowledge
