Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies with emphasis on patient safety, image quality, and protocol adherence. The role requires ARRT or ARMRIT certification upon hire and 1-2 years of MRI experience.

The position may include occasional overnight and holiday shifts. Based at North Shore Medical Center, the technologist will prepare patients, operate MRI systems, and manage contrast injections in collaboration with radiologists,

Qualifications

  • ARRT or ARMRIT certification required at hire
  • 1-2 years MRI technologist experience required
  • Ability to operate complex electronic equipment and perform QA procedures

Responsibilities

  • Execute MRI scans for ambulatory, inpatient, and emergency department patients, adjusting parameters to maintain diagnostic quality and managing MRI safety in complex care environments.
  • Inserts IV catheters and prepares for and performs intravenous injection of MR contrast agents, including use of MR-compatible power injector; monitor for adverse reactions and document in EMR.
  • Instructs patients on MRI safety and ensures adherence to safety policies; acts as final safety checkpoint prior to scanning.
  • Performs scheduled quality control procedures on MRI scanners and related equipment; reports issues to supervisor.
  • Assists staff with scheduling, transporting patients, inventory, and filing as needed.
