Join an energetic, patient-focused team! University Diagnostics is currently seeking an experienced Lead MRI Technologist for a Full-time position at our outpatient imaging centers located in Knoxville, TN.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the Lead MRI technologist:
The Lead MRI Technologist is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the MRI department, ensuring high-quality imaging services, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This position provides leadership n and training to MRI technologists, coordinates scheduling and workflow, and works closely with radiologists, physicians, and other departments to ensure optimal patient care. The Lead MRI Technologist also serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide guidance, support, and training to MRI technologists.
- Mentor new employees and assist in the orientation process.
- Conduct or coordinate continuing education sessions and skills development.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years experience as an MRI Technologist
EDUCATION:
- Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT. Must also hold a MR advanced registration through ARRT. MRSO certification preferred-required within 12 months of employment.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols
- Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
- Ability to work independently and multitask.
- Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
- Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
